The energy and alternative energy industries are among the largest and most dynamic industries in the world. In recent years, much has changed in these industries due to deregulation, fuel prices, and environmental concerns, among other things. Supply constraints due to issues such as transmission congestion or component failures have led to outages and brownouts in different areas of the U.S. and abroad in recent years. Not only have these factors led to a need for traditional energy companies to abandon ‘business as usual’ for meaningful change, they have also led to groundswell in the development of new energy technologies. These new developments include advancements in alternative energy technologies including solar, photovoltaic, wind power, and fuel cells.
Gates and Company serves growing and established companies that are developing and marketing alternative energy technologies, demand side management solutions, and maintenance optimization services. This includes those developing advanced materials, devices, and software to improve energy efficiency, streamline utility operations or reduce dependency on traditional fossil fuels. Our clients range from early-stage to Fortune 500. Our larger clients often seek emerging technologies from smaller firms that are developing new and novel products.
Gates and Company has a solid track record and strong business relationships in the energy/alternative energy marketplace. Our team includes corporate leaders, technology managers, consultants, and venture capitalists. We have helped a number of companies better understand market dynamics and their own core competencies to develop winning growth strategies and tactical plans. Our ability to support these strategic plans with investment banking resources to spinout or sell non-core businesses or to add bolt-on acquisitions to gain competitive advantage distinguishes Gates and Company from its competitors who lack this unique combination of capabilities.
The expertise Gates and Company has across its other core verticals helps strengthen our energy-related subject matter expertise and provides a distinct advantage to clients. Gates and Company participates in several industry organizations including the Association of Energy Engineers and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
